It's crazy how society wants to take away from all your hard work when things are going well for you. This act always seems to play out within collegiate sports. I think it's sad how College authorities wait so long to try to punish athletes who are accused for accepting money or gifts for playing for a certain school. For instance Reggie Bush was stripped of his Heisman Trophy for accepting gifts from coaches during his stint at USC. Him accepting these gifts didn't have anything to do with his athletic ability or the hardwork he put in at the weight room! So why are they taking his Heisman trophy. when he earned it fair and square. They wait several years later when Reggie Bush is in the NFL doing pretty well to decided to take away the reward he received for all his hardwork!
Now there's a young talented athlete that plays Quaterback for Auburn University that goes by the name of Cam Newton. Cam has been having an outstanding year and is on the verge of being counted out for the Heisman trophy and losing qualifications to play for the rest of the year, due to asking for money to attend a certain school. Was it neccessary for the coach that wasnt graced with Newton's presence at Quaterback to tell the media that he asked for money? I believed this came from pure jelousy and hate that Cam was doing so well. It's evident that all great college student atheletes receive or receieved some type of incentive to play for a school so if your not going to punish them all it's not right to just punish one of them. Let them live and continue to enjoy their college experience!
