Checkout one of the greatest instrumentalist to do it Fela Kuti. He came up with his own form of music called the Afrobeat, which is composed from jazz over some rhythmic beats that will just leave you grooving. I grew up listening to Fela because my folks are Nigerian but I never understood what I was listening to until I became older. A lot of artist today pay homage to Fela by doing tributes Common, Bilal, and wale just to name a few. Press play and enjoy!
