All White Basketball League?

I was searching the net as i normally do in the early morning, and i come across this article about the ABAA Atlanta Based Basketball Association. On Sunday the AABA, an Atlanta based basketball league which will include “players that are natural born United States citizens with both parents of Caucasian race” announced that it will begin its inaugural season this June. League officials have been hoping to include Augusta, Georgia as one of their 12 teams but naturally logical people everywhere are up in arms about this – according to the Augusta Chronicle:

Don “Moose” Lewis, the commissioner of the AABA, said the reasoning behind the league’s roster restrictions is not racism.

“There’s nothing hatred about what we’re doing,” he said. “I don’t hate anyone of color. But people of white, American-born citizens are in the minority now. Here’s a league for white players to play fundamental basketball, which they like.”

Lewis said he wants to emphasize fundamental basketball instead of “street-ball” played by “people of color.” He pointed out recent incidents in the NBA, including Gilbert Arenas’ indefinite suspension after bringing guns into the Washington Wizards locker room, as examples of fans’ dissatisfaction with the way current professional sports are run.

“Would you want to go to the game and worry about a player flipping you off or attacking you in the stands or grabbing their crotch?” he said. “That’s the culture today, and in a free country we should have the right to move ourselves in a better direction.” We know we just gave these guys some free publicity but no responsible sponsor will touch this anyway so good luck getting your league off the ground….

My thoughts:
After reading this article i came to the conclusion that racism probably will never be over. I mean i know that White's are not very dominant in a lot of basketball leagues this is true. But throwing Gilbert Arenas's name into this just because he got into a little trouble that didn't involve any White's is just rediculous. I mean someone these statements that people say are just plain ignorant. White people are not perfect! I'm not racist at all i love people of all skin colors and races. this just makes me angry to see comments and statements like this. They say they want to bring back the fundamental aspect in basketball and not the street ball that is familiar with the people of color! Basketball is basketball you play the game how ever you was brought up. I know a lot of White's that play street ball. For example look at White Chocolate, and Jason Williams. Well i just wanted to share with y'all what i read and how i felt feel free to leave your thoughts and comments.
